The SPDAT is a case management tool that uses four methods of information gathering to best understand the individual adult, unaccompanied youth or family’s strengths and support needs across four core domains: Wellness, Risks, Socialization and Daily Functions, and Housing. Families use these four core domains plus an additional domain that focuses on the needs of the children within the household. The purpose of the SPDAT is to frame a collaborative journey towards change that increases the confidence and self-esteem of the household through accountable, structured goals and support. The SPDAT is an eligibility requirement and prioritization tool for several housing programs in Thunder Bay.
